Mighty Fire Breaker recently completed significant accreditations for MFB-31-CitroTechTM in the "Long Term Fire Retardant" Category.
SAN DIEGO, Calif., Aug. 31, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, Mighty Fire Breaker (MFB) announced that its MFB-31-CitroTechTM is now listed by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) GreenGuard Gold and SPOT. MFB-31-CitroTech also recently passed aquatic bioassay testing under California Title 22 CCR as non-toxic and non-hazardous chemistry. MFB also announced that it completed testing protocol from the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF), whose mission is to protect and improve global human health, food, water, consumer products, and the environment.
Additionally, MFB and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) executed a partnership enabling MFB to be included within the EPA's Safer Choice program that is designed to support innovative developing products with improved environmental and human health characteristics. MFB-31-Citrotech is the only fire chemistry in the world certified by the EPA Safer Choice program.
"The recent accreditations and EPA partnership are as rewarding as the early fire elimination awards I've received in the past," said MFB President Steve Conboy. "We are out to raise the bar on all risk reduction for humans, animals, and our environment when it comes to all firefighting chemicals. MFB has created patent-protected substances and equipment that have never been used before in wildfire defense. Our goal and testing have always been to prove we produce early fire elimination to reduce loss and greenhouse gas production. We also use equipment that make things easier for firefighters to save their backs, and to reduce risk of heart attack and developing PTSD."
MFB's position, which is supported by its patent portfolio, is to prove that MFB fire elimination products are as good or better as any fire retardant in the world, and that they are developed with safer chemistry to defend humans, animals, and the environment. MFB's goal is to support early fire elimination in fire crises with clean safe chemistry that does not create new health and environmental crises which are discovered later.
"As the Chief Technician with Mighty Fire Breaker, I'm happy to announce our recent accreditations to continue to prove MFB as the safest fire chemistry in the world. Even with the recent accreditations, there are still those that don't understand that many traditional fire elimination products are found to cause cancer years after firefighters or consumers have used them. Our job now is to raise the "Claims Bar" on all fire chemistry forcing manufacturers to support their claims as we have. No more hiding trade secrets in safety data sheets," says Conboy.
The GreenGuard Gold and SPOT accreditations from UL are designed to bring safety to science. Products that have achieved GreenGuard certification are scientifically proven to meet some of the world's most rigorous third-party chemical emissions standards, helping to reduce indoor air pollution and the risk of chemical exposure. SPOT is the largest credible sustainable product database with solutions for architects, manufacturers, retailers, professional purchasers, and more. The Aquatic Testing Laboratories California: Title 22 CCR test is used to help determine whether or not a sample should be classified as a hazardous waste under state of California criteria. The NSF accreditation attests to the competency of the services provided and compliance with established national and international standards. The EPA Safer Choice is an EPA Pollution Prevention (P2) program, which includes practices that reduce, eliminate, or prevent pollution at its source, such as using safer ingredients in products.
