WASHINGTON, March 29, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Working from lived experience and backed by historical and scientific research, renowned educator Milagros Phillips has spent over two decades facilitating race literacy programs around the world. After inspiring thousands, from corporate leaders to members of Congress, Phillips is announcing the premiere of her new television show Race Healer. This provocative new program highlights the people working tirelessly to heal the racial divide, giving voice and exposure to transformative ideas.
"I'm excited to bring this first-of-its-kind show to our nation," said Milagros Phillips, Executive Producer of Race Healer. "My desire is to give people information that will help them become more race literate."
The debut episode features Dr. L.E. Gomez, the Assistant Professor of Medicine at Howard University and Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee for the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Gomez currently studies the neuroendocrine basis of health disparities, and advocates for the elimination of racial inequality in the medical field.
"My hope is this show tells viewers we all count, no matter where we're born or our ancestors are from; that we don't have to conform in order to succeed," said Dr. Gomez.
"People's health is at stake and the more information we can give people, the more likely they are to be successful about self care," said Phillips.
