Mindray North America to Highlight Strength in Advanced Cardiac Imaging at ACEP Scientific Assembly

ACEP, the world's largest emergency medicine conference, will take place from October 27-30 in Denver, Colorado. Mindray will feature live scanning and an in-booth presentation on Tissue Tracking technology by Dr. Robert Reardon, MD of Emergency Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minnesota's first Level 1 Trauma Center. Over the past 20 years, ultrasound has become an integral part of emergency departments, particularly for use with patients experiencing cardiac arrest. At the ACEP Scientific Assembly, Mindray will highlight its three primary point-of-care ultrasound systems, TE7, M9 and ZS3, each of which is equipped with advanced cardiac capabilities and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) technology.

According to the American College of Emergency Physicians, "ultrasound has been shown in cardiac arrest to accurately identify the presence or lack of intrinsic cardiac activity and in some cases the cause of arrest, including left ventricular failure, right ventricular failure, pulmonary embolism, pericardial tamponade, and hypovolemia¹." The College also observed that TEE allows emergency physicians to continuously monitor the patient without interrupting chest compressions during a cardiac arrest¹.

Mindray's advanced single crystal transducers with 3T technology™ allow the end-user to scan at higher frequencies without the loss of penetration, thus bringing large cart-based image resolution to the point-of-care setting. Accompanying Tissue Tracking technology with quantitative analysis allows users to monitor the displacement of cardiac tissue by tracking the speckle displacement in the image from frame to frame. This advanced technology brings quantitative cardiac dysfunction assessment tools to the bedside.
