Miniclip to Release its First Console & PC Game
(PRWEB UK) 27 October 2016 -- Miniclip, a leading developer and publisher known for multiple hit mobile games, are set to release their first game on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Steam and other PC digital storefronts.
MX Nitro, a follow-up to the successful browser game Motocross Nitro, is being lined up for release in early 2017. This marks new territory for the company after their significant mobile gaming success in recent years.
MX Nitro is a fast-paced and dynamic motocross game, taking place on tracks around the world. It will feature both career and ranked multiplayer modes, with players having access to a wide range of bikes and tricks.
“This game represents a huge step for Miniclip” says CEO Rob Small. “We’ve published many successful mobile games, but this is our first ever game on home console, as well as Steam. This is the next chapter for us a company and hopefully means even bigger things in the future! It’s tremendously exciting to be taking this step with our development partners, Saber Interactive.”
Matthew Karch, founder and CEO of Saber Interactive said “We’ve lavished all the skill and polish we’ve practised on the AAA titles we’ve developed for clients, like Halo Online and Quake Champions, on our own title, MX Nitro. We’re super-excited to be working with Miniclip again, and are looking forward to cementing our relationship with this game, which we hope will be the first of many successful, future collaborations.
Miniclip has released some hugely popular new titles in the last few years, with the web and mobile game Agar.io becoming the top-trending game on Google Search in 2015, and earning an appearance in the new series of House of Cards. Miniclip now has over 200m monthly active users across its game portfolio, and the global gaming giant Tencent acquired a majority stake in the company in 2015.
MX Nitro is slated for release in early 2017.
