MANCHESTER, N.H., Jan. 24, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Minim, the AI-driven WiFi management and IoT security platform, today announced Cable Haunt Virtual Patch, a feature offering comprehensive exploit detection and prevention for the vulnerability that now affects hundreds of millions of Broadcom based cable modems around the world.
Discovered by Danish company Lyrebirds and an independent researcher, Cable Haunt puts homes at risk for traffic eavesdropping and hostile network takeover via the cable modem. As the vulnerability exists in Broadcom chip middleware, several cable modem models are at risk. Starting today, Minim's cloud platform will block Cable Haunt exploit attempts for cable modems on its network, as well as display the security event to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and subscribers in its applications.
