Cole obtained his Juris Doctor in 2007 from the University of South Dakota, School of Law. He received his undergraduate degree from Minnesota State University. Cole worked as a law clerk for the firm of Bands McCullen in Sioux Falls, South Dakota while in law school. He received his license to practice in Minnesota in 2008 and is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, as well as the Ramsey County Bar Association.
Cole hails from Moville, Iowa, and enjoys playing basketball, running, and snowboarding in his free time. He is a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Twins. Cole and his wife are expecting their first child.
