“We’re happy to give back to individuals who have been through so much this past year, and in Mr. Cochran’s case, he gave 20 years of service to the Marines and continues to give of himself through the Mission,” said POWERHOME SOLAR CEO Jayson Waller.

POWERHOME SOLAR, a leading provider of solar panel installation and energy efficiency services in 12 states, gave away the second of three new Chevrolet Bolts to Warsaw, Missouri, resident Frank Cochran as part of its “PWR Your Life” sweepstakes aimed at increasing awareness of sustainable and eco-friendly living.

Cochran was chosen from thousands of people automatically entered into a random drawing for agreeing to a free in-home sales consultation with POWERHOME SOLAR about the value of installing solar at their residence. The company awarded the first car to a Michigan resident in January, who was not a POWERHOME SOLAR customer, and it will award a final car from a new pool of eligible entrants in March.

Cochran, a Marine veteran who served his country for 20 years, is now serving as director of recovery and camp programs for Kansas City-based City Union Mission. The organization provides enrichment programs, as well as food, shelter and safety to thousands of poverty-stricken men, women and children in the Kansas City area.

Following Cochran’s POWERHOME SOLAR consultation, he became a customer, so this win comes as an added surprise, especially since he is accustomed to giving, not receiving.

"[The things I’ve won before] were so minor, I wouldn't even remember what they were,” said Cochran. “Maybe $20 in a raffle, but nothing significant.”

POWERHOME SOLAR’s initiative aligns with President Joe Biden’s call for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, as well as GM’s new “Everybody In” campaign and its call to create a world with zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion.

“We’re happy to give back to individuals who have been through so much this past year, and in Mr. Cochran’s case, he gave 20 years of service to the Marines and continues to give of himself through the Mission,” said POWERHOME SOLAR CEO Jayson Waller.

“Giving away these electric vehicles is our way of saying thanks to prospective customers as we help educate them on the benefits of solar. We want to help everyone reduce their dependence on fossil fuels, not only for their electricity needs but in the cars they drive.”
