CAMBRIDGE, Mass., May 13, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- MIT Sloan Executive Education announced today a course built on an emerging body of work at MIT that moves beyond a one-size-fits-all approach to start-ups. Led by Scott Stern, the David Sarnoff Professor of Management, and Erin L. Scott, Senior Lecturer of Technological Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management at MIT Sloan, 'Strategy for Startups: From Idea to Impact' is designed for innovation-driven, growth-oriented startups and focuses on the key choices that founders face as they start and scale their business. The inaugural session of the course will run June 3–4, 2021.
The decisions required to successfully create and scale an idea can be daunting. This course gives innovators and entrepreneurs the ability to weigh alternative options and make choices to position their ventures for competitive advantage. Stern and Scott will detail a practical and systematic approach to exploring and evaluating the core choices that entrepreneurs need to make as they translate their ideas into a reality.
"To achieve success and build a growth-oriented business, innovators must balance experimentation and learning with the selection and implementation of a strategy," said Stern. "We want to give participants a framework for developing and implementing entrepreneurial strategy in dynamic environments, and also identifying ways to scale their ventures."
Seeing a need to provide entrepreneurs with foundational, but flexible practices for growth, 'Strategy for Startups: From Idea to Impact', is designed for start-up founders, start-up executives responsible for strategy development or implementation, and investors or consultants focusing on innovation–driven firms in fast-moving environments. The course will be offered entirely online via a highly interactive, live Zoom format to practice social distancing while still fostering opportunities for a hands-on experience.
Enrollment is now open. Interested participants may learn more and apply online, here. For a full list of Executive Education courses, visit the MIT Sloan website.
