Mitch Roschelle Elected to PENCIL Board of Directors
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 09, 2013 -- PENCIL, the New York City-based education nonprofit that improves school and student performance by creating innovative programs that target the intersection of school needs and business expertise, today announced the election of Mitch Roschelle to the PENCIL Board of Directors.

We will rely on his expertise as we look to increase our impact and further establish PENCIL as a model for improving public schools.”

Roschelle has helped create 12 separate PENCIL Partnerships throughout New York City introducing the Earn Your Future curricula focused on financial literacy as well as college and career readiness. Introducing students to the basics of savings, budgeting, debt and careers are life skills that have enriched their academic experience.
A PENCIL Partner himself, Roschelle also works with Metropolitan Lighthouse Charter School l in the Bronx, as well as PS 22 in Staten Island. There, he, along with a team from PwC, instructed elementary school students in PwC’s Earn Your Future curricula. “As a fifth grade student at PS 22 stated during a visit, ‘financial literacy is about making smart choices with your money,’” Roschelle noted.
Over the last year, he has dedicated over 600 hours of his time to PwC’s Earn Your Future initiative, a five-year $160 million commitment to youth education.
As a PwC partner and the firm’s U.S. Real Estate Advisory Practice leader, Roschelle has 30 years of experience serving a wide variety of real estate investors. He is a key advisor in matters dealing with real estate acquisition, development and disposition, restructurings, and the securitization of real estate assets, and has served as an expert witness in a variety of real estate-related matters. He is regularly quoted in the national publications like The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Bloomberg. He is a regular contributor on CNBC, Fox Business Network and the Commercial Real Estate Show.
Roschelle graduated from Bentley University in Waltham, MA where he majored in accounting. He is a CPA, and has been with PwC for 30 years. He currently resides in Armonk, NY with his wife and 13-year-old twin sons.
