Mizel Museum to Host Art and Culture Tour of Israel
Denver, CO (PRWEB) November 20, 2013 -- The Mizel Museum, Denver’s Jewish art and culture museum, will host a tour of Israel March 24 –April 1, 2014. The tour, which focuses on Israel’s arts and cultural aspects, will include visits to artist studios, private collections and the Sderot Film Festival, and will enable participants to experience and learn about printmaking, clay and Hebrew calligraphy.
The tour begins Monday, March 24, 2014, with an introductory program in Old Jaffa on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, and will continue with several activities and tours each day through Tuesday, April 1, 2014. “This tour is unique in that it exposes travelers to many parts of Israel through the lens of art and culture,” said Georgina Kolber, curator of exhibitions, collections and programs at the Mizel Museum. “This is a one-of-a-kind experience that participants can’t get anywhere else.”
Highlights include a stay in the Neve Tzedek neighborhood of Tel Aviv, home to a variety of artists and writers; a meeting with Adi New, award-winning Israeli photographer; a visit to the Circassian Museum in Reyhania and the Tefen Museum in Upper Galilee; and a meeting with artists at the Sderot Film Festival in Western Negev on the Gaza border.
The tour of Israel is open to the public. Travel arrangements will be made by individual travelers, so participants may originate anywhere in the world. This is the Mizel Museum’s second art and culture tour of Israel; the first was held in October 2012.
