LOUISVILLE, Ky., Jan. 24, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Modern Makerie will be launching it's newest Rainbow themed product on Sunday, January 30th. A portion of the sales will be donated to the National Embryo Donation Center (NEDC) or other related organizations.
The Rainbow Collection, a collection of rainbow-themed essential oil bags and accessories, found its beginnings in March of 2020 when a business partner collaborated with Jonathan and Kate Lyons on a launch to benefit an Infertility and Infant Loss charity by donating a portion of the proceeds. After their daughter Primrose was born in August of 2020 by way of embryo adoption, the Lyons' continued the collection and expanded the product line. They continue to help other families going the embryo adoption route through their support of the NEDC and other similar causes.
Once a month, Modern Makerie launches a new Rainbow themed product, donating a portion of the sales to the National Embryo Donation Center(NEDC). The NEDC is a non-profit that pays for the cost of embryo storage with an adjacent fertility clinic that transfers the adopted embryos to the families. The Lyons' hope to raise awareness surrounding embryo adoption and inspire other families to choose this route for adoption.
Babies that are born after couples walk through storms of infertility, infant loss, and/or miscarriage, have been referred to as Rainbow Babies for years. "The Rainbow Collection is to serve as a reminder that our hope is in Christ and we are not alone in our struggles. Adoption of any kind reminds us of our adoption into God's family, and the rainbow serves as a reminder that we have peace with God," says Kate Lyons, Owner of Modern Makerie. Some of the favorite items in the Rainbow Collection are the cosmetic and essential oil storage bags.
Doing their best to make sure there is something for everyone, Modern Makerie recently expanded their multi-purpose Cosmetic and Toiletry bag patterns. Hand-making each bag, Modern Makerie does everything themselves so that they have complete control over the quality of their bags. Constantly innovating, Kate invented the Essential Oil Wristlet, Essential Oil Recipe Journal, and the Vinyl-lined Essential Oil Bag.
"Our mission is to use this business in whatever way God wants to use it," says Kate. "Over the past 6 years, this business has been our sole income. It provides our family the ability to spend more time together, travel together, meet new friends and customers we would otherwise have never come in contact with, adopt our sweet Primrose, and to help and connect with others." Often collaborating with other small businesses to provide other rainbow themed products, their hope is that these bags will serve as a reminder to those who have walked through infertility, infant loss, or miscarriage, that there is always hope.
