Modern Plastics was founded in 1945 by Joseph C. Carbone as Modern Glass, where automobile windshield installation and plate glass was sold. It later became Modern Plastics and Glass, and finally Modern Plastics, as the glass business was phased out in 1978.

Today, Modern Plastics is an elite distributor of plastic sheet, rod, tube and film products and high-quality fabricated plastic parts.
