Modo Puts the Power of its No-Code Campus App Builder into the Hands of Students During 24-Hour Ideathon Competitions
Hundreds of students will take their forward-thinking ideas on how a mobile experience could benefit campus life and build them into engaging mobile apps in less than a weekend.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., April 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Modo, the leading no-code mobile app development platform used by the world's most recognized and respected institutions of higher education, today announced the Modo Ideathon 2019, the next-generation series of mobile app "hackathons for non-developers" competitions aimed at empowering all students to become app builders and shape their campus' mobile strategy and experience.
Modo Ideathon competitions are co-sponsored by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and will run throughout the spring semester with scheduled events at schools across the country, from large public universities to community colleges. During the events, hundreds of students will take their forward-thinking ideas on how a mobile experience could benefit campus life and build them into engaging mobile apps in less than a weekend. The competitions underscore how the intuitive interface of Modo Campus enables students with no coding skills to create a unified mobile experience that delivers on their day-to-day needs – quickly and easily. Unlike traditional hackathons, the Modo "Ideathon" becomes a contest of innovation and ideas, not computer skills, so any academic major or discipline can participate and win.
Each team has 24-hours to build their app, a panel of judges selects the team with the best app and awards them with a prize of $1,000. Student finalists from each school will compete against one another for a national prize of $10,000, which will be awarded at the Kurogo Mobile Conference in June at MIT in Cambridge, MA.

The nationwide Ideathons are organized and led by Ana Sanchez, Modo's User Engagement Strategist. Before beginning her career at Modo, Sanchez was an Ideathon winner herself in 2016.
