This case narrative consists of numbers and family detail history that will be interpreted by the students and presented to a panel of judges. The Competition’s goal is to create a learning experience by having the students explain their financial plan and defend their strategies. In realistic fashion this year, the narrative complicates the fictional family’s lives with a COVID19 component and how it influences the financial security of the family.
The Competition itself goes through three judging phases which culminate in a Competition Finals of three teams presenting their plans virtually to the IARFC Board Directors during their annual meeting in April of 2021. Winners are announced and awarded cash prizes with national publicity.
“Continuing to sponsor the IARFC National Financial Plan Competition is Money Concepts dedication to supporting university students who are in Financial Services curriculums,” relates Barry L. Dayley, MRFC®, Executive Vice President of Money Concepts. “This competition teaches young future consultants how to craft a comprehensive financial plan which is at the core of what we do for our clients and their families. We are pleased to be on board for 2021.”
The IARFC has been promoting their Competition for almost a decade. Returning universities have supported the event each year by entering students from their programs. It proves to be a win-win situation year after year for students, professors and their universities, corporate sponsors, individual donators, and the IARFC.
“Money Concepts International, Inc. has been instrumental in the success of our competition” commented IARFC Trustee Chair and CEO, Dr. H. Stephen Bailey, MRFC®. “They understand the importance of helping the next generation of consultants and promote the competition as a vehicle of invaluable experience in building financial plans. I personally thank them for their financial backing and the personal involvement of their Executive Vice President Barry Dayley in presenting the competition awards.”
