MoonWalker Boots Defy Gravity on Indiegogo

The first-ever futuristic urban boots specially designed to allow users to experience what it’s like to walk on the moon were created by New York-based startup Moonshine Crea. The 20:17 MoonWalker boots make their debut on Indiegogo to complete the startup’s goal of $40,000 for its flexible-funding campaign.
20:17 MoonWalker boots are the successor to the 20:16 MoonWalker shoes which gathered steam during MoonShine’s campaign last February 2016. The technology behind this one-of-a-kind footwear is currently under pending utility patent. Like 20:16, the 20:17 MoonWalker boots use multiple layers of N45 magnets to recreate the feeling of walking in low-gravity environments. However, the boots have been further developed to bring wearers the “leap and bound” feeling of traversing the surface of the moon.
The exterior is made of durable neoprene and a T5 silver sop with a classy leather loop accentuating the unique design. The boot’s interior is layered with latex, soft cotton padding and memory foam that adapts to the foot’s comfort level. The sole has enhanced DuPont Tyvek synthetic polyethylene -- the same material used by NASA on space station modules.
An E-ink Screen Technology is built into the outer soles of the boots, allowing wearers to link to the MoonWalker app and control the animated screen on their own boots.
The 20:17 MoonWalker boots come in black, red, light blue, and white. While the design is unisex, the boots come in different sizes fitted for both men and women. The avant-garde, futuristic appeal of the design is unique, yet low-key enough to be worn every day.
In return for their support, Indiegogo backers will be the first to get their hands on the MoonWalker boots which come with the e-paper and smartphone app. All pledges from $49, $59, and $69 are all sold out as the campaign has gathered $14,287, almost half of the campaign goal total. A featured perk has been made available at $69 dollars for more backers.
MoonShine Crea’s futuristic and innovative footwear line has already garnered positive reviews in media outlets such as Business Insider, EndGadget, GQ, Playboy, Fox News, Tech Times, Wired, and many more.
