More than 600 National Leaders to Converge on Washington to Urge Congress to Act on Immigration Reform
Washington, DC (PRWEB) October 28, 2013 -- With immigration the next big topic before Congress, top faith, law enforcement, agricultural, and business leaders are heading to Washington, D.C. from around the nation to push for reform, according to Americans for Reform (AFR), the group coordinating the effort.
These leaders -- including a large delegation from California -- will meet in the nation’s capital on Tuesday, October 29, for an event sponsored by the Partnership for a New American Economy, the Bibles, Badges and Business for Immigration Reform network, FWD.US, the California Strawberry Commission, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
National leaders are intent on sending a clear and unified message that lawmakers need to take up broad immigration reform and keep it moving forward, officials said.
Americans for Reform is the group in charge of organizing the fly-in; it will convene more than 600 leaders from nearly 100 congressional districts across the country.
