MOSS Building & Design Announces Its Collaboration with and Unveiling of City of Fairfax Theatre Company's New Scene Shed at Hopewell House

CHANTILLY, Va., Oct. 21, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- MOSS Building & Design is pleased to announce that its collaboration with the City of Fairfax Theatre Company (CFTC), to assist with the remodel of its new Scene Shop at Hopewell House, will be revealed to the public on Thursday, October 29, 2020.

Formerly used as a barn on Hopewell House property, the remodeled space was donated by the owners of the land to be used specifically for CFTC to store and construct its sets in advance of its productions, thereby minimizing the amount of time and labor spent putting up backdrops and props at the various locations where productions are held. Run entirely by volunteers, CFTC relies on public use space for its rehearsal and productions, and in the past had all its equipment, materials, costumes, and other related items stored at CFTC members' homes.

Jason Hampel, MOSS Building & Design Chairman of the Board, and his family have been involved with CFTC for many years and understand its impact on those involved with Northern Virginia community.

With donated materials from other sources, MOSS Building & Design was able to provide the manpower necessary to do the following: demo interior partitions and frame a floor to provide storage, create a larger main double door entry for easier access, rework electrical to provide better lighting and outlets and to provide electrical for the HVAC system, insulate the main areas and finish the insides with plywood, insulate, drywall and paint the ceiling, and install a new HVAC system.

The Scene Shop will be officially unveiled to CFTC members and the general public on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. at its location at Hopewell House, 5360 Winfield Road, Fairfax, Virginia.
