CHANTILLY, Va., Feb. 12, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) Metro DC Chapter named MOSS Building & Design in Chantilly, VA a 2021 Capital CotY Grand Prize winner in the Entire House ($250k-$500k) category and a Merit Winner in the Basement ($100k-$250k) category of its annual awards competition at their virtual "Evening of Excellence" held on Friday, February 5, 2021. MOSS was also the recipient, for the 4th year in a row, of the Community Service Award.

Contractors from the vast Metro DC area vie for CotY Awards each year. Judging is based on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation and degree of difficulty by an impartial panel of industry experts. NARI Metro DC named 75 Capital CotY winners from the 2021 competition, with 80 team members. Fifteen Capital CotY winners were also named NARI Regional CotY winners and will advance to the final competition for National CotY Awards. National winners will be announced at NARI's National Virtual Evening of Excellence on April 30th.
MOSS's submission for the Entire House category, for which it received the Grand Prize, was for a home that was completely transformed with a new, large main level addition, a totally reworked interior from the original footprint, an updated basement, guest room, and garage, and an overall new exterior that gave the home an entirely new look and feel from its original iteration. The submission for the Basement category, for which MOSS received a Merit Award, was for a home in which the customers wanted to completely up level their basement to include a large, walk in wine cellar, cozy seating area for family and friends (with new fireplace), a game room with large pool table, a built-in wet bar and a stunning media room for movie nights.
Each year NARI Metro DC presents Capital CotY awards to members who have demonstrated outstanding work through their remodeling projects. The entries of this year's competition totaled more than $32 million worth of remodeling investments.
