The State of SaaS Management 2022 Report reveals current priorities and challenges for CIOs and IT leaders for managing their SaaS application ecosystems
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 27, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Zluri, provider of an enterprise SaaS Management platform, today announced the release of its State of SaaS Management 2022 Report in partnership with Gartner Peer Insights. The report revealed that while most organizations spend up to 10 percent of their revenue on SaaS applications, they lack any consistent documented policies or processes for managing their SaaS ecosystem.
As enterprise IT leaders continue to accelerate digital transformation efforts by adopting cloud-based software applications, it is essential that they have the tools to eliminate SaaS wastage, automate IT tasks, and secure their SaaS ecosystems. Zluri's report, in conjunction with Gartner Peer Insights, offers strategic insights into how IT managers are currently using SaaS products and what challenges exist.
The report includes data collected from April 2 - May 7, 2022 and highlights key trends surrounding SaaS Management. Specifically, the report demonstrates that IT departments and CIOs are primary stakeholders when it comes to managing SaaS products, but the nature of managing these platforms is inconsistent, and many top priorities including employee onboarding and offboarding are not being addressed.
Key data points from the State of SaaS Management 2022 Report are:
- Most organizations (58%) spend between 6% and 10% of their revenue on SaaS applications. Just 11% of those sampled spend more than 10% of their revenue on Saas applications.
- At least 50% of respondents have processes in place for renewal and support, procurement, and onboarding. Only 14% of respondents have a SaaS offboarding process.
- 56% of respondents don't have or are not sure if they have a documented Shadow IT policy.
- 68% of respondents have an annual employee turnover rate between 5% and 15%.
- Almost half of the respondents (44%) use a Saas Management Platform to give access to SaaS applications.
- IT departments (68%) and the CIO (63%) are the clear top two choices respondents cited when asked who they consult before purchasing a new SaaS application.
- The top three capabilities considered essential in a SaaS Management Platform are employee on/offboarding, procurement, and discoverability, all selected by at least 62% of respondents.
- The most common way SaaS application accounts are terminated is by exporting the data before closing the account. Less than half (44%) have a documented process or coordinate with the SaaS vendor for this.
"As businesses critically evaluate their current investment in SaaS products, it is essential that software providers understand the ongoing challenges and priorities of IT leaders to best address the needs of their customers and prospects," said Ritish Reddy, Co-Founder of Zluri. "The State of SaaS Management Report is designed to inform SaaS companies, as well as business and IT leaders with insights into potential blindspots that exist when it comes to optimizing and de-risking their SaaS ecosystem."
