Mostyn Moreno Foundation Helps Launch “Give These HEARTs a Ride” Campaign
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) March 22, 2014 -- The Glenda Jean Mostyn and Joe E. Moreno Educational Foundation (Mostyn Moreno Foundation) has partnered with the H.E.A.R.T. Program to support the “Give These HEARTs a Ride” campaign on fundraising site Razoo.
The Health, Entrepreneurship, and Readiness Training (H.E.A.R.T.) Program is a Houston-based nonprofit dedicated to helping adults with disabilities obtain meaningful employment and independent lives. The “Give These HEARTs a Ride” campaign is hoping to raise enough funds to expand the program’s vehicle fleet, which transports adults with disabilities to work and training.
“Every person deserves a chance to support themselves,” said Monte Osburn, executive director of the Mostyn Moreno Foundation. “The HEART program provides a realistic option for Texans with disabilities to train for a job and obtain sustaining employment.”
HEART trainees operate and maintain over 70 vending machines in the Houston area. The program also sends its members to over 150 concession events annually, including BBVA Compass Stadium as the exclusive vendor of Papa John’s Pizza. The HEART Program ensures that each trainee is prepared for employment and receives minimum wage or higher. The need for transportation to training and work fostered the “Give These HEARTs a Ride” campaign on Razoo.
“Something as easily overlooked as transportation means a lot to HEART,” said Osburn. “Their trainees can’t drive and public transportation is inadequate to address the problem. We really hope people recognize the importance of this program and donate.”

Without reliable transportation, HEART trainees with disabilities will be unable to attend training and work. Along with the minivan, funds will also go toward a 10-year, 100,000 mile warranty and all required insurance coverage.
