ELKHORN, Wis., Feb. 18, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- MRS is proud to announce that three of our Wisconsin facilities - Madison, Beloit, and Milwaukee Brown Deer Road all scored AA ratings in the most recent BRCGS audit, maintaining our streak of attaining BRCGS' highest possible scores. In addition to these three facilities, all other MRS Warehouses including Milwaukee County Line Road, Madison MacFarland, Pleasant Prairie and Cedar Rapids IA are BRCGS AA rated.
BRCGS is the globally recognized standard for sourcing and distribution of food with its international scale audits. According to the BRCGS rating system, an A rating is 1-10 nonconformities, and an AA rating is awarded to those with five or fewer nonconformities. Receiving an AA rating is rare in itself, which makes it all the more remarkable that all seven of MRS's sites have received this AA rating.
"We've been monitored by U.S. auditing agencies before," noted Mark Steinke, MRS' Safety and Compliance Manager. "Those audits only require accountability for 90 days before an inspection. The BRCGS standard accounts for facility operations year-round, which ultimately keeps us on our toes and compels us to meet high standards 365 days a year."
According to the BRCGS staff who performed the three recent audits, MRS sites succeed in several notable ways. Auditors cited MRS's great documentation and strong internal inspections as two areas where MRS shined. The auditors commented that all MRS facilities are extremely clean and sanitary, which matters because MRS facilities must remain kitchen-quality at all times. All three teams that underwent this recent audit have shown a strong commitment to the BRCGS principle of continuous growth.
"MRS is extremely excited about attaining these high ratings," Steinke added. "We will continue to seek excellence in every realm of our business as we grow."
