Ms. Sparky Electric Contributes Electrical Expertise to New Conservatory at the San Diego Botanic Garden

ENCINITAS, Calif., Sept. 3, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Ms. Sparky Electric Inc., an independent electrician in Encinitas, California, recently completed work with the San Diego Botanic Garden (SDBG) in their new Dickinson Family Education Conservatory. The Dickinson Conservatory is a space within the SDBG that will house a variety of tropical plants in a beautiful glass enclosure. It will also offer various classes related to agriculture, horticulture, and nutrition, and host events like weddings, fundraisers, and meetings.

One of the exciting features in the Dickinson Conservatory is the living chandeliers and floating plant islands that are suspended from the ceiling in the multi-purpose Main Hall. The chandeliers and islands are made from tropical plants and they can be raised and lowered depending on the desired atmosphere. Ms. Sparky Electric was brought in to run new electrical circuits in the Conservatory that would power the Stagemaker SR 5 motors, which would then operate the chandeliers and floating islands. The result is a stunning display of live plants that enhance the overall space and allow for flexibility in the use of the space.

The electrical portions of this project took less than two months to complete from start to finish, which included the permitting process and the installation.

The exhibit at the Dickinson Family Education Conservatory was designed and installed by Weldon Exhibits, and Pro Systems of San Diego, CA provided the rigging for the plant chandeliers.
