Users on the front lines came to us requesting a gateway with the features of an indoor LoRaWAN Access Point gateway, but the durability found in outdoor gateways. The MultiTech development team hit the spot with the fusion of these requirements and customer feedback has been very positive
MOUNDS VIEW, Minn. (PRWEB) April 27, 2021
Multi-Tech Systems, Inc., a leading global supplier of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and services, today announced the MultiTech Conduit® IP67 200 Series LoRaWAN® gateway. The newest gateway series includes features of the award-winning MultiTech Conduit® AP Access Point for LoRa® technology, enclosed in a chassis to withstand harsh indoor or outdoor environments with all the performance of its award-winning Conduit IP67 Base Station.
The Conduit IP67 200 Series addresses key industry LoRaWAN network deployment needs within connected buildings and cities, as part of energy and utility solutions, within harsh manufacturing environments, and in other LoRaWAN communication infrastructure applications. The gateway features a NEMA rated enclosure, with internal or external antennas enabling flexibility and optimized deployments; MultiTech mPower™ Edge Intelligence embedded software enabling customer applications running in the gateway at the network edge; and additional enhancements aimed at optimizing performance and reliability. Additionally, it supports thousands of LoRaWAN-certified end devices and provides durable, low-power, wide area connectivity in support of M2M and IoT applications for both LoRaWAN service providers and individual enterprises wanting to expand their LoRaWAN network coverage.
“This new gateway addresses use cases where customer LoRaWAN network coverage requires both indoor and outdoor gateway deployments. Users on the front lines came to us requesting a gateway with the features of an indoor LoRaWAN Access Point gateway, but the durability found in outdoor gateways,” said Duane Wald, Vice President of Offering Management at MultiTech. “The MultiTech development team hit the spot with the fusion of these requirements and customer feedback has been very positive.”
The new Conduit IP67 200 Series features a NEMA IP67 rated polycarbonate enclosure, wide operating temperature range, Power-over-Ethernet, internal cellular and GPS antennas, optional internal LoRa antenna, and 8 LoRa channels. Multiple mounting options include integrated mounting holes for wall mounting, brackets for simple pole mounting, and hardware to support deployment as part of an existing telecommunications tower. The product also introduces temperature sensors for enhanced LoRaWAN performance across a wide temperature range, and graceful shutdown in the event of power loss as well as easy external access to SIM and Ethernet ports, ISM band scanning for optimal LoRa performance, GNSS for location information, and certification for European 868 MHz and North American 915 MHz ISM bands.
The Conduit IP67 200 Series is part of the MultiTech Conduit product portfolio, which includes the industry’s most configurable, manageable, and scalable communications gateways for industrial IoT applications. Network engineers can remotely configure and optimize their Conduit performance through DeviceHQ®, the world’s first IoT Application Store and Device Management platform, and they can manage their enterprise hybrid/distributed LoRaWAN network through LENS®, the toolset for network, encryption keys and policies management, and performance reporting.
Additional products within MultiTech’s Conduit family include:
- Conduit® - the industry’s most configurable, manageable, and scalable LoRa gateway for industrial IoT applications. This indoor industrial gateway is ideal for environments that require metal casing for protection against particles and debris and which require an industrial temperature range.
- Conduit® IP67 Base Station: Outdoor IP67-rated gateway ideally suited for performing in harsh environments such as rain, snow, extreme heat, and high winds.
- Conduit® AP Access Point: Indoor access point ideal for commercial environments (e.g. hotels, offices, and retail facilities) to deepen LoRa coverage in difficult-to-reach places where cell tower or rooftop deployments may not perform as well.
