Music with a Message: DJ Mixfilm "Only Love" Unites During Divided Time
Venice, CA (PRWEB) September 28, 2016 -- Critically acclaimed DJ, Sleeper, in collaboration with top-rated DJ e-tailer, The DJ Hookup, debut Only Love, a mixfilm. In response to a tense political climate and losses of artists like Phife Dawg, Prince and David Bowie, the project seeks to unite people over a new artistic medium - the mixfilm. Equal parts film, DJ performance and mixtape, the new medium blurs the lines between established forms into a new, unified experience.
In 2009, Sleeper became the first DJ to draw over 1,000,000 YouTube views to a video of his crowd-pleasing DJ style, mixing 18 songs in 10 minutes. In 2011, after appearing on MTV, ESPN and URB, Sleeper was asked to represent the art of DJing at the prestigious TED conference. At TED, Sleeper presented the still nascent technology of video DJing. Only Love revisits Sleeper’s unique style of genre-bending, old-school turntablism and cutting-edge technology, this time elevating the experience by seamlessly incorporating film.
