MWH Announces New Global Dams Practice Leader
(PRWEB) April 20, 2016 -- MWH Global, an engineering, consulting and construction firm focused on water and natural resources, today announced Michael Rogers to succeed Glenn Tarbox as the new global dams practice leader where he will lead planning, design and construction management for all types of structures designed to store, regulate and deliver water. Rogers previously served as the North America dams practice leader and brings more than 30 years of industry experience in technical design, project management and client service coordination on dam projects.
Rogers’ expertise and leadership skills have played a significant role in some of MWH’s most noteworthy and award-winning dam projects, including the Big Bear Valley Dam rehabilitation project for the Big Bear Municipal Water District (Calif.) and the San Vicente Dam Raise project as part of the San Diego County Water Authority’s Emergency Water Storage Project (Calif.). He has also served in a variety of leadership roles within industry-related organizations, including his time as president of the U.S. Society of Dams and most recently as vice president of the International Commission on Large Dams.
“Mike brings strategic vision and a wealth of industry-leading experience to the global dams practice leader position, rooted in more than 30 years of hands-on project work,” said Joe Adams, president of Energy and Industry for MWH Global. “With more than 100 projects under his belt, we’re confident in his approach and excited to see the results of his leadership in this next chapter of his career with MWH.”
Rogers continues the role of global dams practice leader established under Glenn Tarbox, who will continue to serve as a senior technical advisor based in Bellevue, Washington. Terrence (Terry) Arnold will now serve in Rogers’ former role as North America dams practice leader. Rogers has a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota. He is based in San Diego, Calif.
