IT-Skills training school MyComputerCareer celebrates 1415 graduates at recent October Graduation
APEX, N.C., Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On October 3, MyComputerCareer held its fall virtual commencement ceremony for 1,415 new graduates. Roughly 2,500 viewers tuned in on YouTube, with family, friends, and MyCC team members flooding the comments. CEO Amy Onuska, Founder and Chairman Tony Galati, CMO Bruce Ackerman, and Director of Alumni Services Kelly Dowling addressed the class.
"But Here You Are"
Onuska opened with a challenge: "This ceremony isn't the finish line. It's your starting block. You're joining an industry that desperately needs your skills and fresh perspective."
"Some of you studied late into the night after putting the kids to bed," Onuska said. "Others carved out study time between shifts. Many of you faced personal challenges that made you question if this success was even possible. But here you are."
"Call your career services advisor and do whatever it takes to jumpstart your career. Whether that is preparing for your next role or your next raise or locking down that first gig, now is the time. Do not wait."
"You Chose Action"
Galati praised the class for their diligence in reaching this important day. "While others stayed stuck complaining about their situation, you chose action," Galati told the class. "You chose to bet on yourself. And that bet has paid off."
"Put those certifications on your wall. Show your children, present and future, what it means to set a goal and achieve it, no matter how difficult the path."
No Expiration Date
Dowling told graduates their relationship with MyComputerCareer doesn't end with the ceremony.
"Whether you're looking to polish your resume next month, prepare for an interview next year, or explore a completely new IT path five years from now, we're here for you," Dowling said. "No expiration date."
Graduates leave with lifetime access to career services, including resume support, interview coaching, and pathways to advanced programs like Cyber Security Specialist (CSS), Cyber Security Engineer (CSE), and the Associate Degree program.
CMO Bruce Ackerman guided the ceremony through the presentation of all 1,415 graduates before closing with a message to the class and their families: "We thank you graduates. We thank your parents and family and friends for your support. We look forward to being there with you every step of the way."
From the Kitchen to the Command Line
The day before the ceremony, June graduate Richard Reichert joined MyComputerCareer's Get Into IT Live broadcast to share his story. After 15 years in professional kitchens (including the Art Institute of Chicago), Reichert enrolled in the ITSA program, taking evening classes three nights a week while working full time.
"I keep getting turned down for all these tech support jobs," Reichert said. "The only feedback (I received was) that I don't have certifications. I didn't even know this huge world of certifications existed."
Today, he works as a software support representative supporting law firms on a billing and practice management platform. No more 60-80 hour work weeks. His advice for anyone on the fence: "The program gives you the tools, the knowledge, and all the help you need, but you have to show up and do the work. If you do, it's worth it."
