MyScript® Appoints Gary Baum, Vice President, Marketing
AUSTIN, TEXAS AND NANTES, FRANCE (PRWEB) June 18, 2015 -- MyScript®, leader in accurate, high-performance handwriting recognition and digital ink management technology, is pleased to announce that Gary Baum has joined the company in the position of Vice President, Marketing.
The proliferation of digital pens for PCs, tablets and smartphones is driving broad adoption of digital ink recognition technology across multiple industry segments. Baum will oversee global marketing activities and educational efforts to build MyScript brand awareness and drive technology adoption, expand and commercialize digital ink technology offerings, and nurture strategic collaborations and partnerships within the digital writing ecosystem.
Baum comes to MyScript with more than 20 years of executive marketing and product management experience. Most recently, Baum served as AVP Marketing for Israeli-based startup N-trig’s digital pen and touch technology, making him intimately familiar with digital writing from both a hardware and software perspective. Prior to N-trig, he served as the creator and director of AMD’s entry into the mobile processor business. Previously, Baum held executive positions at Chips and Technologies and S3. At S3, he was a member of the founding team and marketing director, where he shaped the company’s vision and developed the Windows graphics accelerator strategy that drove S3 to its successful IPO and to over $1B in revenue.
Baum began his career in the PC industry as the primary Intel technical interface to IBM during the development of the original PC and PC/AT. While at Intel, Baum drove execution of marketing programs which resulted in the standardization of the Intel X86 CPU architecture for the entire PC industry. Baum holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and graduate studies in computer architecture and advanced control theory. He holds six patents in the field of CPU and system design.
"We are excited to welcome a technology marketing leader with the in-depth industry knowledge that Gary has,” said Paddy Padmanabhan, CEO, MyScript. “With his true passion for digital writing technology, we believe that Gary is the ideal person to educate the market about the power of our technology and drive marketing and outreach efforts that will lead to widespread adoption.”
