Driven by her desire to use her voice to join the desire of millions of people to renounce war, Mzia Kvirikashvili Lawrence pens “A Spiritual Bridge” (published by AuthorHouse UK).

The book is a collection of poems translated from Georgian to English. Here, Lawrence retains the soul and rhythm of 52 Georgian poets whose works represent the feelings, emotional experiences and joint pain of the ordinary citizens of Georgia.

“It is too difficult to live in Georgia as the collapse of The Soviet Union destroyed the old management system and creating a new system is exceedingly difficult,” the author states. “These poems are about abandoned houses after several wars, feelings of emigrants caused by this chaos. Also, it is about love and soul pain — there is something beautiful in these two mysteriously linked feelings about love and soul pain.”

“A Spiritual Bridge” hopes to provide a glimmer of joy to an eternally tormented country and at the same time introduce to the English-speaking world how a Georgian person thinks.
