nablet Releases H.264 SDK v2 with Enhanced XAVC Encoding
AACHEN, Germany (PRWEB) April 05, 2018 -- nablet, a leading provider of media analysis and processing technologies, announced today that it has released v2 of its H.264 encoder for XAVC family and Ultra HD formats. The new version includes numerous performance optimizations, especially for multi-core processors.
“We spent thousands of man-hours optimizing our H.264 encoder, which was an especially complex task for systems with many cores” said Sergey Grigoriev, Chief Scientist at nablet. “The new v2 is a great step forward. It provides up to 30 percent better performance on XAVC LongG encoding than other encoders on the market, at the same or better quality. We have already started implementing AVX512, which will give us even more room for optimization in 2018.”
The nablet H.264 encoder v2 features:
• Greatly optimized multithreading
• Highly optimized LongG encoding
• Many new AVX and AVX2 optimizations
• Updated XAVC profile support
• Additional support for Panasonic formats
Users of Avid Media Composer can already make use of the encoder’s improved LongGOP encoding, included in the latest release of the nablet XAVC XDCAM AMA plugin.
