NACD Atlanta Names Three to Board of Directors
ATLANTA (PRWEB) May 29, 2018 -- The Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the recognized authority on leading governance practices, today announced the election of Becky Blalock, director, Aspen Aerogels and Hannon Armstrong; Connie Engel, director, BrandBank/Brand Group Holdings, and immediate past chair/trustee, Kennesaw State University Foundation; and Patricia Robinson, independent lead director, Trex, Inc. (NYSE), and director STO Corp., Robinson Manufacturing Company and the Betty and Davis Fitzgerald Foundation. The elections increase membership of the Board of Directors to 13.

Ms. Blalock serves on the boards of Aspen Aerogels and Hannon Armstrong on the audit, compensation, and risk committees. She is a strategic advisor to Tech Mahindra, a global 200 IT sourcing company headquartered in New Delhi, India. In 2017 she received her cybersecurity certification from the Georgia Institute of Technology and was recently listed in The Financial Times Agenda 50 as a director with skills in new technologies. She is author of the bestselling book DARE: Straight Talk on Confidence, Courage, and Career for Women in Charge. Ms. Blalock is also past senior vice president and chief information officer for Southern Companies.

Ms. Engel is a director at BrandBank/Brand Group Holdings. She is past chairman and current trustee of Kennesaw State University Foundation and was inducted into the inaugural Kennesaw State University Coles College of Business Hall of Fame. Ms. Engel is a partner in the Atlanta Office Division of Childress Klein, with a distinguished career in commercial real estate development, and she currently serves as a board member of the Cumberland Community Improvement District.

Ms. Robinson serves as lead independent director of Trex, Inc. (NYSE) and on the boards of STO Corp., Robinson Manufacturing Company, and the Betty and Davis Fitzgerald Foundation. She is a member of the Dean’s Council at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and serves on the board of the International Women’s Forum Georgia. She is a past President of Mead School and Office Products, culminating a lengthy career with the parent company.
