SKOKIE, Ill., Sept. 30, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- NAPCO, Ltd. (North American Polymer Company), a national producer of refinishing products and a bathtub and kitchen refinishing training company, continues to innovate environmentally-friendly products that are a step ahead of the kitchen and bathtub coatings refinishing industry. NAPCO's Kitchen Renew line features a revolutionary waterborne primer that goes beyond the stricter industry regulations on Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and provides customers with an improved performance and application experience.
Kitchen Renew Waterborne Primer is a one component (1K), sprayable waterborne primer and leads the industry as a unique, high-performing waterborne option for the kitchen and bathtub refinishing sector. Specifically formulated for application with an HVLP system (with a #3 or 1.3 mil needle), Kitchen Renew Waterborne Primer provides coverage equal to that which is delivered by solvent-based primers. This primer covers dark stains and wood grain on cabinets with ease, and is also formulated to work with NAPCO's full Kitchen Renew product line and the popular Flint-Stone™ countertop coating.
"There are benefits to using waterborne products aside from the fact that it has a lower VOCs to ensure less of an odor in the home," said Steve Zamborsky, Research and Development and Technical Manager at NAPCO. "Our waterborne products are formulated to dry just as fast as our solvent-based products. Additionally, our Kitchen Renew Waterborne coatings are all-in-one so there is no thinner to use, no catalyst, and no mixing which will also save time and money."
When applying Kitchen Renew Waterborne Primer on a countertop, NAPCO instructs its customers to use its recommended application process for ideal results. Spray two light tack coats before applying the Flint-Stone™ coating, waiting approximately 5 minutes in between coats. For priming cabinets, spray two to three regular coats of Waterborne Primer before moving onto the topcoat application, waiting approximately 5-10 minutes between coats.
"We will continue to lead, and we will continue to innovate more waterborne coating products for our industry sector," added Zamborsky. "Improving things like application and cure time is as important as helping our clients cut down on clean up and downtime. If we can do that all while helping the environment and reducing health risks, then the value of our investment in research and development of new products is worth it."
