National Association of Professional Women Inducts Tricia Bruketta, President and Founder of Memory DayByDay, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) May 02, 2017 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Tricia Bruketta as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Tricia into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”
A Nurse with 30 years of experience and a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner for nearly 20 years, Tricia Bruketta is now the President and Founder of Memory DayByDay. The nonprofit organization specializes in helping people diagnosed with early-onset and early-stage Alzheimer’s dementia, and providing support to caregivers.
Ms. Bruketta founded the organization in response to her husband Tom’s diagnosis of Alzheimer’s dementia, which he received while he was working as the Medical Director of a community mental health clinic in San Francisco. When she was unable to find the help and support she and her family so desperately needed and realized there were not any community programs to help those with the disease and their caregivers, Ms. Bruketta felt she had to do something.
Among the services Memory DayByDay provides are memory screening that includes recommendations to share with their regular medical providers; resources and referrals; The Program, an early-memory loss program; and the Memory Café, “a place for people with dementia, and their family and friends, to come and enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation.” The café is cosponsored by AmeriCares. More information is available at memorydaybyday.org.
