National Association of Professional Women Announces Pamela J. Toon, President / CEO of Phoenix Medical Distributing, Inc., a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) August 26, 2014 -- NAPW honors Pamela J. Toon as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in medical device sales. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
As the President and CEO of Phoenix Medical Distributing, Inc., a medical device distribution company, Ms. Toon has been instrumental in guiding the company on its successful path. Headquartered in the Wichita, KS area, the company has since expanded its reach to eight states across the country, where it represents various manufacturers' cardiovascular, cardiology and vascular products.
Ms. Toon brings more than 20 years of experience as a medical sales professional to her current role. Personally, she has faced some challenges; Ms. Toon was once a homeless, single mother. But she persevered and eventually became a nurse and ran a cardiac lab. Later, after a salesman offered Ms. Toon a sales opportunity, she took a chance and entered the field of medical supply sales, where she has thrived professionally ever since.
One of the few women in the industry, Ms. Toon is an effective communicator with expert mentoring skills. She has served in leadership training roles at a number of corporations, including National Sales Trainer, Regional Sales Trainer, Regional Sales Director and International Director of Physician Training. Under Ms. Toon's skilled direction, sales have increased, territories have expanded and goals have been met or exceeded.
Never forgetting the challenges she has faced in her life, Ms. Toon gives back through her work as a motivational speaker for single mothers. She is also the author of two books: Hemo Dynamic Technologies Monitoring, Past Present and Future and Cardiac Catherization, Present Procedures and the Future of the Medical Device Industry.
NAPW’s mission is to provide an exclusive networking forum to successful professional women where they can aspire, connect and achieve.
