NAPW Announces Victoria K. Bednar, Director: North America Proposal Center at Motorola Solutions, Inc., as a 2013/2014 Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- The National Association of Professional Women honors Victoria K. Bednar as a 2013/2014 Professional Woman of the Year for leadership in telecommunications with this prestigious distinction. As the largest, most-recognized organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, NAPW is a vibrant networking community with over 500,000 members and nearly 400 Local Chapters.
"My experience includes 25 years of leadership in team development, business development, project management, sales and engineering," says Ms. Bednar. The telecommunications professional is committed to not only her own success but also sharing the vast industry knowledge she has accumulated with her staff. "I possess a knack of understanding about what is required to lead different types of teams and what motivates them."
In her current role at Motorola, Ms. Bednar directs the North America Proposal Center, overseeing 50 people in 15 locations covering the state, local and federal government and enterprise markets. "I am responsible for the strategy, development and production of over 2,500 persuasive proposals per year, valuing $100K to $500M each," she says.
Creating strategy while successfully managing operations, policies and procedures, resourcing, budget, rewards and performance management for five departments is a part of Ms. Bednar’s key responsibilities. She has continued to build upon her skills through professional development and has obtained project management certification as well as a Digital Six Sigma (DSS) Green Belt, one of Motorola’s highest levels of achievements in quality.
Although proud of all she has accomplished professionally, including the positive impact she has had on hundreds of employees whom she has mentored, Ms. Bednar is equally proud of her personal perseverance: bravely battling—and ultimately defeating—cancer. She would like to utilize her experience and skills to help others in the community.
