National Aviation Academy Partners with Pinellas Community Foundation to Make A&P Training More Accessible
National Aviation Academy (NAA) has partnered with Pinellas Community Foundation (PCF) to raise scholarship funds for students seeking rewarding, hands-on careers in aviation maintenance. By helping launch this initiative, NAA's volunteer fundraising efforts will increase its investment in the next generation of aviation maintenance technicians who are essential to the aviation industry.
CLEARWATER, Fla., June 1, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Becoming an aircraft mechanic offers a rewarding career path with high earning potential. However, despite how essential and valuable airframe & powerplant (A&P) certified mechanics are, these unseen positions are often overlooked. This is unfortunate given the positive impact these fantastic careers can have on hundreds and thousands of individuals seeking employment. Bringing awareness to these critical career opportunities in the aviation maintenance industry (and the training that makes them possible) is essential to the health of the aviation industry at large.
National Aviation Academy (NAA) is partnering with the Pinellas Community Foundation (PCF) to make career training more accessible by raising scholarship funds for NAA students who have limited access to other types of financial aid. The scholarship fund will recognize and encourage students pursuing careers in aviation maintenance and promote the future of aviation and, specifically, highly-trained A&P mechanics.
"We are so excited to partner with PCF to help make aviation maintenance training more accessible to persons that may otherwise not be able to afford the program," said Pam Van Sant, President & Chief Operating Officer, NAA. "We believe that education opens the door to opportunity and personal growth."
Despite challenges posed by COVID-19, the industry is recovering and the need for skilled aircraft mechanics is significant. In fact, Boeing estimates that 739,000 new aviation maintenance technicians will be needed globally in the next 20 years!
By helping launch this initiative, NAA's volunteer fundraising efforts will increase its investment in the next generation of aviation maintenance technicians who are essential to the aviation industry.
