TEMPE, Ariz., March 11, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- U.S. brick and mortar bridal stores have joined forces to form the National Bridal Retailers Association. Based out of Tempe, Arizona, NBRA will represent the over 3,000 independently-owned bridal gown stores in the U.S. And it will work diligently on issues affecting the bridal gown industry. The national brick and mortar bridal salon industry has grown to represent 69% of all bridal gown sales in the US; up from 58% in 2011.
"I'm excited that the bridal and formalwear industry now has a way to work with our manufacturer partners, provide more accurate state-of-the-industry information to the media, and help improve the operating environment for our retailer members," states Ann Campeau, Director. Other officers include Michelle McFarland, President and Robin Garrison, Vice-President. NBRA will fight against increased manufacturing and import costs, counterfeit goods and work toward new industry standards in a changing retail environment to create a united industry that is focused on partnerships between retailers and manufacturers.
NBRA will act as a media resource for journalists, researchers and social media influencers seeking bridal retailer industry data and information. And will work to strengthen the public image of shopping in brick and mortar bridal stores by providing education, services and support that encourages brides to visit their local bridal retailers.
Membership is open to all brick and mortar bridal and social occasion stores, including prom and tuxedos, in the US and Canada for an annual fee of $99.
According to industry studies, independently-owned bridal salons sales are up compared to a downtrend in chain stores where sales were down -11% from 33% in 2015. And online purchases only represent 7% of bridal gown sales, down from 8% in 2015.
