National Association of Professional Women Announces Bridget M. Dwyer, Clinic Director at LIU-Brooklyn, a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year

Ms. Dwyer is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in speech-language pathology. Bridget Dwyer has an M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Brooklyn College and a Post Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership and District Administration from Long Island University. She has two decades of experience working as a clinician, supervisor and an administrator in the field of speech-language pathology. Her expansive expertise includes the area of pediatrics, where she has focused on helping infants and toddlers.
Currently, Ms. Dwyer is Clinic Director at LIU-Brooklyn, a hospital that provides outstanding community speech and hearing services for children and adults. As an administrator, she plays a key role in reaching out to the community to ensure they receive the services they need, including those that are free and affordable. She also generously shares her skills and knowledge with graduate students in speech-language pathology and communication sciences and disorders, helping to prepare them for their respective careers. She looks forward to continuing to expand her expertise at both professional and administrative levels, focusing even more closely on graduate students and clinical fellow mentorship.
Previously, Ms. Dwyer has held a variety of administrative, supervisory and clinical positions at a number of medical and educational institutions, including NY League for Early Learning, NY City Health and Hospitals Corporation, NY Childhood Center, Staten Island Mental Health Society, Brooklyn College-CUNY and Long Island University-Brooklyn Campus.
