National Association of Professional Women Announces Cheri Y. Sigmon CISSP, Cyber Security, United States Government, as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) April 25, 2014 -- NAPW honors Cheri Y. Sigmon CISSP as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. She is being recognized with this prestigious distinction for her leadership in cyber security. As the largest, most-recognized organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 400 Local Chapters.
A senior Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Ms. Sigmon is employed by the United States Government and is currently stationed at the Pentagon. Her primary field of expertise is cyber security. Ms. Sigmon uses the technological, security and leadership skills she has honed to safeguard the government’s computer systems, networks and trusted data from internal and external threats. She earned a Master’s degree from Webster University and a Bachelor’s degree from Clemson University. Although she is committed to the instrumental role she plays in keeping the country safe, Ms. Sigmon is equally dedicated to helping those in need, especially those who have selflessly served our country. “I recently founded Wounded Warrior Press, a nonprofit that serves all wounded warriors and veterans in our communities, including veterans, their families and their caregivers,” says Ms. Sigmon. “I am passionate about helping and connecting people to the resources they need and deserve.”
Ms. Sigmon is currently planning the expansion of the nonprofit she founded. “I am in the stages of setting up a Wounded Warrior Cafe locally and we hope to expand cafes globally within a few years,” she says.
