National Association of Professional Women Announces Debra Leatherwood, Purchasing Manager at Bayshore Industrial, as VIP Woman of the Year
(PRWEB) July 23, 2013 -- Debra Leatherwood is the Purchasing Manager at Bayshore Industrial, which specializes in highly filled concentrates and low-filled compounds for the resin producer and converter markets. Ms. Leatherwood has attained the highest level of membership to the National Association of Professional Women as a VIP Women of the Year and has been recognized for outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession.
Ms. Leatherwood is a 15-year veteran of Bayshore Industrial, where she developed into her present role as its purchasing manager. She works closely with the planner/scheduler sales group and inventory control and has daily interaction with Bayshore's impressive customer base.
With the help of two purchasing coordinators and a purchasing assistant, Ms. Leatherwood has proudly watched her department grow into the well-run machine that it is. She considers herself a “working” manager who is very much involved with the day-to-day activities within her department while striving to create and maintain a team spirit and an open door policy.
Well-organized, conscientious and eager to achieve, Ms. Leatherwood has consistently proven her exceptional management capabilities, which have been the key to her success. Her strong work ethic and high standards have garnered much respect and support from co-workers and employees alike. A notable achievement has been her recent participation in the February 2013 RETC Houston conference for the Society of Plastics Engineers.
In her managerial capacity, Ms. Leatherwood remains committed to her mission of assisting and implementing the new global ERP System and developing the document SOP for all phases of her department. She is also focused on improving its current procurement process.
