National Association of Professional Women Inducts Dr. Alyssa Greedy, Pharm. D., Pharmacy Manager at Walgreens, Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) July 08, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Alyssa Greedy as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in pharmacy. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to recognize Alyssa with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her perseverance, work ethic and leadership qualities are an inspiration to all women.”
When Dr. Greedy took over the Pharmacy Manager position at Walgreens three-and-one-half years ago, it was as much a change for her new staff as it was for her. “I learned very quickly that one person’s attitude can affect the entire staff, especially if it starts at the top. It took a lot of encouragement and a little bit of time to get the staff engaged and happy to come to work again,” said Dr. Greedy.
Luckily, with her grandmother and sister-in-law both as Pharmacists, Dr. Greedy was well-equipped for the challenge. “Listening to my grandmother talk about her work and watching my sister-in-law go through pharmacy school gave me a firsthand look at the
hard work and dedication it takes to become a Pharmacist and to take care of your patients,” she said.
Today, Dr. Greedy’s team of staff members are happy to come to work every day in the fun and supportive environment she has created for them to learn, grow and thrive. Together with her dedicated team, she has succeeded in increasing the gross profit of her
location to over 400% by reducing excess inventory, providing better service, gaining
more patients and increasing sales.
Dr. Greedy’s current goals are centered on learning how to incorporate metrics as a part of her “people-focused” approach and applying trending changes in patient care to new services in the pharmacy. “I am really enjoying where I am at now, and hope that wherever I do go from here, I am able engage with my staff and interact and help my patients,” she said.
