National Association of Professional Women Inducts Yvette McDowell, Attorney / Entrepreneur at Y McDowell & Associates, Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle

She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. Overcoming a personal history of sexual, physical and mental abuse, Yvette McDowell understands the necessity of a caring professional’s guidance when coping with extreme challenges. Providing support is Ms. McDowell’s mission for all the women she surrounds herself with who have suffered abuse. She became a public speaker over 15 years ago and continues to be a vital part of a support system to help as many women as possible with the complex issues they often develop as a result of their experiences which often leads to them to not knowing their purpose in life.
“The lives I touched inspired me to focus on this issue. I was tired of hearing women constantly talk about not knowing their purpose in life,” she said.
Ms. McDowell is a skilled professional when it comes to public speaking and personal transformation. With her main focus on women, she often faces the challenge of getting women to confront their fears or beliefs that have held them captive for years. She is rewarded when there is finally a breakthrough and empowerment begins. Her goal is to become one of America’s foremost transformation experts pioneering the effort to see one million women actually living their purpose by the year 2020. To begin this process she started a platform on Facebook called “One MillionWomen-By2020.”
With purpose and transformation being a part of who Ms. McDowell is, she came up with a creative concept about gang violence that led to the creation of a documentary titled Conversation Peace which, in 1995, awarded her an Emmy. “If gang members knew what their purpose was, we would not have this type of trouble in our cities.” She incorporated her skills in mediation, conflict resolution and criminal law to help gang members transform their lives. In addition to her aforementioned skills, Ms. McDowell provides expertise in personality sales system training and identity theft consulting.
