Craig Goldblatt, Partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP in Washington, D.C.
Craig Goldblatt is an experienced bankruptcy litigator, with a focus on complex bankruptcy disputes and bankruptcy appeals. The core of his practice has been protecting the interests of secured creditors, financial institutions and insurance companies in bankruptcy-related disputes, though he has also represented leading technology, transportation and communications industry clients in bankruptcy matters. He has argued three bankruptcy cases in the Supreme Court of the United States, participated actively in several other Supreme Court bankruptcy matters, and regularly handles bankruptcy disputes at trial and on appeal. He has also developed an expertise on consumer bankruptcy matters, representing several major mortgage servicers, holders of credit card and other unsecured debt, and bankruptcy trustees in a variety of regulatory investigations, bankruptcy disputes and appeals.
Susan M. Freeman, Partner at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP in Phoenix, AZ
Susan Freeman concentrates her practice on business bankruptcy and civil appeals of all kinds. She is the only lawyer invited to membership (and leadership) in both the American College of Bankruptcy and the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. Susan is listed as counsel in over 150 appellate decisions, and has briefed and argued before the U.S. Supreme Court. She has represented asset purchasers, indenture trustees, secured creditors, debtors in possession, trustees and committees in chapter 11 cases. Susan has a particular expertise in bankruptcy ethics, and has written extensively and spoken frequently at seminars on that topic, as well as representing lawyers and trustees and serving as an expert witness on professional responsibility issues. Susan is certified by the Arizona State Bar Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in bankruptcy law.
The NBC is a non-profit, non-partisan, self-supporting organization of approximately sixty lawyers, law professors and bankruptcy judges whose primary purpose is to advise Congress on the operation of bankruptcy and related laws and any proposed changes to those laws. The NBC was formed in the 1930’s at the request of Congress to assist in the drafting of major Depression-era bankruptcy law amendments, ultimately resulting in the Chandler Act of 1938. The NBC has been a resource to Congress on every significant piece of bankruptcy legislation since that time.
