National Social Security Advisor Certificate Program Featured at Annual NAIFA Conference
Premier Social Security Consulting's National Social Security Advisor (NSSA), the nation's only accredited Social Security certificate program, was featured at the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) conference held Sept. 13-16 in San Antonio, Texas. NSSA teaches professional advisors about the Social Security program so they can in turn help clients maximize Social Security income.
CINCINNATI, Sept. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Premier Social Security Consulting of Cincinnati was among leading educational companies in the financial advising and insurance industry featured in the "Planning Your Financial Future" program unveiled at the annual National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) conference held Sept. 13-16 in San Antonio, Texas.
Premier's National Social Security Advisor (NSSA) training program, which educates professional advisors about the Social Security program so advisors can help clients maximize Social Security income, is the nation's only accredited Social Security education certificate program.
Premier partners Marc Kiner and Jim Blair were featured in the online video program including in-depth news, interviews, and sponsored editorial profiles of leaders and key organizations in the insurance and financial advising industries.
The full program was played on a continuous loop throughout the conference in an NAIFA viewing area. The conference draws financial advisors and insurance agents from across the nation each year. ITN Productions of London, England, created the news program.
About 76 million Americans are classified as baby boomers, with 10,000 of them turning 65 years old each day in the U.S. This is one of the largest demographics in the U.S.
"Americans are living longer and having retirements that can last up to 30 years," said Kiner. "Maximizing Social Security income can help retires make sure they don't outlive their money."
Kiner, a certified public accountant for 38 years, sold his CPA firm to focus on Social Security education. He and Blair formed Premier Social Security Consulting in January, 2010, to help individual baby boomers understand and maximize their Social Security benefits.
But they quickly realized that people did not have qualified financial advisors to go to who were knowledgeable about the Social Security program. They formed the National Social Security Association and now offer Social Security education training to professional advisors nationwide as part of the NSSA program. More than 1,600 professional advisors have taken NSSA education training and earned the NSSA certificate.
Financial advisors who advise clients on how to structure an income stream for retirement better know what you're talking about when it comes to Social Security, said Joseph Duffy, a financial advisor for 28 years who works at Everest Financial, Inc. in Fort Mitchell, Ky.
"I've taken the NSSA class not just once, but several times," said Duffy. "It's a great refresher for me. My education with the NSSA course allows me to be effective with my own Social Security seminars. Our attendance continues to go up at our seminars and our closing rate has gone from 25 percent to almost a 50 percent closing rate."
After the 8-hour NSSA class is completed, Social Security education for advisors will continue. Kiner and Blair host regular webinars to keep advisors posted on Social Security program changes and provide answers to tough-nut Social Security questions. Webinar topics typically include: Social Security-related articles; case studies; Social Security options software; marketing strategies; and advisor questions.
The National Social Security Advisor (NSSA®) certificate program is accredited by the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE) in Washington, D.C.
The NSSA Advisor program is offered in 18 cities across the nation this year.
