Nationally Recognized FDA Partner Bethany J. Hills Joins Morrison & Foerster in New York
Ms. Hills brings a full-service FDA practice to the firm rounding out its market-leading Life Sciences Group
NEW YORK, June 25, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Morrison & Foerster, a leading global law firm, is pleased to announce that Bethany J. Hills has joined the firm in the New York office as a partner in the Life Sciences Group. Ms. Hills has a full-service Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory and compliance practice. She brings to Morrison & Foerster extensive experience in the products and processes regulated by the FDA, including food, dietary supplements, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotechnology, healthcare technology, diagnostics, and software. Ms. Hills served as chair of the FDA practice at her prior firm.
Ms. Hills' FDA practice spans the complete product life cycle, from pre-market product development and market authorization processes, to post-market compliance issues, such as labeling, promotion, and enforcement actions. She provides clients with advice on everything from FDA submissions and communications strategies to post-approval compliance and reimbursement issues.
"Unlike many FDA lawyers that focus on specific parts of a product life cycle, Bethany brings substantive experience across the entire range of FDA-related client needs. Her breadth of knowledge makes her a tremendous resource to both our life sciences and retail clients across the firm. I look forward to working with Bethany to build a world-class FDA practice at Morrison & Foerster," said Michael Ward, global head of the firm's Life Sciences Practice Group and head of the firm's Patent Practice Group.
Ms. Hills' industry-leading capabilities will significantly benefit clients that Morrison & Foerster advises across several of its transactional and litigation practices, as well as its Intellectual Property and Patent Groups. Her clients currently include emerging companies looking for regulatory pathway development and strategic alignment with business goals; private equity firms and other investors requiring specialized diligence and counsel for investments in the highly regulated life sciences and health care industries; and commercial stage companies needing regulatory counsel in areas impacting current commercialized products, new product development, and enforcement scenarios with the FDA.
Additionally, Ms. Hills further strengthens the firm's market-leading Global Privacy + Data Security Group. Her experience representing clients on HIPAA, connected health, and clinical trial compliance matters, among others, is a natural complement to Morrison & Foerster's strong privacy team.
"I was attracted to Morrison & Foerster by its extensive global platform and the caliber of work being performed by its top-tier Life Sciences Group. I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues to meet the critical needs of our clients across many practice areas," said Ms. Hills.
Ms. Hills' arrival at the firm comes just a few months after Morrison & Foerster opened an office in Boston, signifying a further expansion of its premier life sciences capabilities. The Boston team, which includes more than 30 attorneys, serves clients in the life sciences sector across multiple practices. Morrison & Foerster also recently launched MoFo Life Sciences, a blog to help clients stay on top of the trends, politics, laws, cases, and economic drivers in the ever-changing life sciences industry around the world.
National legal publications and rankings organizations have recognized Ms. Hills contributions to her clients and the profession by naming her to their top lawyer lists, including Chambers USA, the American Bar Association, and The Legal 500.
