Nativo Lodge and SWAIA Celebrate Their Latest Collaboration
Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) January 24, 2015 -- The Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) and the Nativo Lodge, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, have once again collaborated on an exciting fellowship. The Nativo Lodge Fellowship provides an opportunity for 2 artists to design and execute the creation of an immersive cultural experience within 2 guest rooms at the Nativo Lodge Hotel. Modern designs rooted in traditional Native American narratives offer guests a unique experience and opportunity to enrich their visit to New Mexico. Dallin Maybee, SWAIA COO states, “This fellowship offers a unique contemporary glimpse into some of our most traditional and often personal narratives, as told by our Native artists. To stay at one of these rooms is an unparalleled experience not found anywhere else in New Mexico.”
An exciting opportunity for the public to preview all 8 guest room installations will occur on Friday January 30, 2015, at a reception with all 8 artists. The newest fellows, Michelle Lowden and Randy Barton will debut their recent completed rooms, with music, food, and art headlining the event. The reception will happen from 7- 10pm, with the guest rooms open and all the artists providing additional works of art for preview and purchase.
The reception highlights include a special menu in the Nativo Lodge Café, signature drinks, and a special promotion that allows attendees the opportunity to buy a gift certificate to stay in an artist room.
