ARLINGTON, Va., April 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Hobsons, the education technology leader and company behind Naviance, announced today that the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) selected Naviance as one of the preferred providers to support students in planning for college and careers.
Act 930 requires all Arkansas students to have a Student Success Plan by the end of 8th grade beginning in the 2018-19 school year. Naviance is an excellent tool to support the student success planning process. The ADE will fund the purchase of Naviance on behalf of districts beginning in the 2019-20 school year.
Naviance equips students with the skill sets, tool sets, and mindsets for success. Naviance has helped more than 13 million middle and high school students discover their strengths, identify college and career pathways, and create actionable plans to reach their goals after high school.
Hobsons, the creator of the College, Career and Life Readiness Framework, continues to expand equity and access of critical preparation tools for students across the U.S. Today, 36% of high school students in Arkansas already have access to Naviance. Nationwide, 13,000 middle and high schools rely on Naviance, including more than 400,000 high school counselors and teachers.
"Naviance has been a great way for us to provide students with comprehensive college and career information, all in a centralized location. It makes my job as a post-secondary advisor easier and makes the research process much easier for our students and their families," said Rebecca Camarigg, Post-Secondary Advisor at Bentonville West High School.
Arkansas districts often choose Naviance for its proven track record in the state, expert implementation team, and research-backed CCLR Framework.
"The Arkansas Department of Education has made a significant investment in the future of all Arkansas students," said Monica Morrell, General Manager of Naviance. "We're pleased to support Student Success Plans that help all students connect learning to life and reach their full potential."
Naviance includes tools such as Naviance eDocs to streamline the college application process, RepVisits for scheduling college visits, Naviance Course Planner to build individualized academic plans, assessments such as Gallup StrengthsExplorer®, and Naviance Insights for postsecondary outcome analysis.
