Student Housing Business conducted the annual survey of the industry’s Top 25 Owners during the fall of 2019. More than 100 companies were invited to participate in the survey, with 39 qualified companies responding. This year, NB Private Capital narrowly missed ranking among the Top 25, securing the No. 28 slot, advancing even closer than their 2018 list debut at No. 29.
Surveyed companies were ranked on 11 different categories, including the following:
- Number of beds owned
- Number of properties owned
- Number of properties owned off-campus and on-campus
- Number of beds owned off-campus and on-campus
- Number of properties owned in joint ventures
- Percentage of beds owned in joint ventures
- Percentage of portfolio operated by the unit
- Percentage of portfolio operated by the bed
- Number of college/universities where properties are located
NB Private Capital currently has over $800 million in combined property value currently under management, with 7,788 beds within its 23 managed properties—a nearly 23 percent increase from the 2018 bed count of 6,337.
