Neighborhood Credit Union Acquires Small Church-Based Credit Union
DALLAS (PRWEB) December 20, 2017 -- Dallas-based Neighborhood Credit Union has acquired Good Street Baptist Church Federal Credit Union, also located in Dallas. The merger was effective December 1, 2017 and was approved by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and the Texas Credit Union Department.
Neighborhood Credit Union has 12 locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with three branches in close proximity of the church. The Good Street Baptist Church FCU office will close permanently as of December 31, 2017.
“We have successfully transferred all of the 600 membership accounts of the Good Street Baptist Church FCU to Neighborhood Credit Union,” said Carolyn Jordan, senior vice president of Neighborhood Credit Union. “We are eager to serve our new members.”

Good Street Baptist Church Federal Credit Union was chartered on December 3, 1957 after C.R. Robinson felt the need to bring the benefits of a credit union to his congregation and those who were not employed to enjoy the benefits of a fair and equitable credit service. Members of Mount Sinai Baptist Church were later added to the field of membership.
In addition to expanded branch locations, former members of Good Street Baptist Church FCU will now have access to robust online services, including the award-winning MyNCU Mobile app. New products like Prize Savings, Kasasa Checking accounts, a comprehensive line of loan products, and credit and debit cards are all now available as a result of the merger.
