Different from the traditional Ethernet PoE+ card, it uses M12 connectors to replace the shortcomings of the RJ45 connectors that were prone to loosen in the past. And it comes with strengthened cables that are suitable for shock, vibration and harsh application environments, such as in railway/ in-vehicle Ethernet communication, rugged surveillance and machine vision, etc.
To make PCIe-PoE312M widely compatible and applicable in various IPCs or BOX PCs, the card features a patent-pending double-deck design that allows the adaptation of the M12 connectors on standard PCIe slot opening on chassis. There is also a layer of insulation mylar on the deck surface to avoid contact or interference. As far as patents go, it also has unique housing design where the connectors utilize a CNC-milled aluminum block as its connector housing screw that can also reinforce the faceplate to absorb force applied on the cable/ connector. It offers an extremely rugged and reliable cable connection for Ethernet or PoE+ devices.
