Neousys Technology, an industry-leading provider of rugged embedded systems, announced a world-first 4-port Intel® I350 NIC Gigabit Ethernet PCIe card that features M12 x-coded connectors. It also integrates IEEE 802.3at PoE+ PSE function to deliver up to 25.5 walts to attached PD devices and provide unparalleled connection ruggedness for most off-the-shelf computers.

PCIe-PoE312M

Different from the traditional Ethernet PoE+ card, it uses M12 connectors to replace the shortcomings of the RJ45 connectors that were prone to loosen in the past. And it comes with strengthened cables that are suitable for shock, vibration and harsh application environments, such as in railway/ in-vehicle Ethernet communication, rugged surveillance and machine vision, etc.

To make PCIe-PoE312M widely compatible and applicable in various IPCs or BOX PCs, the card features a patent-pending double-deck design that allows the adaptation of the M12 connectors on standard PCIe slot opening on chassis. There is also a layer of insulation mylar on the deck surface to avoid contact or interference. As far as patents go, it also has unique housing design where the connectors utilize a CNC-milled aluminum block as its connector housing screw that can also reinforce the faceplate to absorb force applied on the cable/ connector. It offers an extremely rugged and reliable cable connection for Ethernet or PoE+ devices.

“This is an unprecedented PCIe-PoE+ Card with M12 connectors. PCIe-PoE312M utilizes the reliability and robustness of the M12 connector and its strengthened cable connectivity to ensure that the connector will always be tightly secured when used in harsh environments. The card design is universally compatible so it can be applied to various off-the-shelf IPC and box PCs. One can also install the card without changing the existing platform or customized any mechanisms, thereby achieving cost-saving effects.” said Ariel Chen, product manager of Neousys Technology. Adhering to the principle of solving problems for customers and designing products that meet market needs, we expect PCIe-PoE312M to be popular and widely used in railway/ in-vehicle, rugged surveillance and machine vision applications, etc.
