Nestwave, a provider of low-power geolocation IP and cloud services for Internet of Things (IoT) applications, has been selected as winner of the “GPS-based Solution of the Year” award in the fourth annual Mobile Breakthrough Awards program conducted by Mobile Breakthrough, a leading independent market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies and products in the global wireless and mobile market today.

Nestwave’s positioning solution is ideal for low power Internet-of-Things (IoT) use cases such as asset track and trace for logistics, industry 4.0, smart city and consumer applications. Purpose-built for IoT, the Nestwave solution reduces power consumption by 10x as compared to traditional GNSS while eliminating the need for a dedicated positioning chipset.

The Company’s revolutionary approach uses GNSS, 4G/5G and WiFi signals to generate accurate location fixes in challenging, multipath rich urban environments and for indoor locations suffering from low signal strength. Additionally, the company has divided the processing pipeline between devices (modem chip or DSP) and the Cloud. Local device resources are employed for tasks that require fast, high resolution processing and the Cloud is used for complex computation and efficient access to large databases.
